What are You Learning this Summer?For the past five summers, I have spent a week volunteering with Jeremiah Project, a mission organization geared toward middle school students. I wrote and designed this essay for Jeremiah Project to use as promotional material. I highlight my personal experience as a staffer to encourage other young adults to sign up for staff positions.

Copying? Illegal. Caching, Maybe Not.As technology improves and allows us to share and access information more easily, we find that our legislation quickly falls behind. For an assignment in one of my writing classes about law and ethics, I researched a court case about Google and copyright law. After describing the events in a narrative, I analyzed the implications of the court case for the future of search engines and information sharing.

The Ins and Outs of Kids and FiberWhen scientist present their findings in reports, they can often be confusing and boring to read. As technical writers, one of our jobs is to translate the jargon into an entertaining and sensible article. Because of my interest in nutrition, I chose five articles related to the daily fiber-intake for children and turned them into a unified popular science article.
